Karnataka BJP Chief BY Vijayendra Slams Rahul Gandhi’s Survey Claims, Defends Vote Gains in Mahadevapura

August 9, 2025

The political battleground in Karnataka just got hotter! On Friday, Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra did not hold back and gave a fiery reply to Rahul Gandhi’s claim that surveys favored Congress in 16 Lok Sabha (LS) seats across Karnataka. Vijayendra bluntly said, "No survey said so," and added a spicy jab, "Congress fools must have told him this." What about the BJP’s recent seat wins? Vijayendra recalled the 2019 elections where the BJP won a whopping 25 LS seats. However, even with a new alliance with the JDS in last year’s polls, BJP secured fewer seats. But Vijayendra tossed back a sharp question: "Can the BJP blame it on irregularities?" The showdown intensified for Mahadevapura, a highly watched constituency. Vijayendra challenged Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar: "Check how many fake voters are there in Chamrajpet and Shivajinagar," two seats crowded with high minority populations, "then come for a discussion." Adding fuel to the fire, former Mahadevapura MLA Aravinda Limbavali stood firmly for his party. He said BJP has always raised its vote count steadily in this seat, fiercely denying Gandhi’s allegations of vote theft. Limbavali said, "The party has had an organic growth in the assembly constituency and Gandhi must understand this." Vijayendra’s wife, Manjula S, proudly clinched the Mahadevapura assembly seat in the 2023 polls. Limbavali highlighted BJP’s stronghold, saying since 2008, BJP has collected the highest votes in Mahadevapura for both LS and assembly polls, often crossing an impressive one lakh votes in three LS and three assembly elections each. So, can Rahul Gandhi break this BJP fortress? The political heat is on, and the voters of Karnataka are watching every move closely!
