In a dramatic claim, US President Donald Trump announced he had solved the heated India-Pakistan tensions that were dangerously close to going "nuclear." Speaking just before his big meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska to address the Russia-Ukraine war, Trump said he brokered peace where many feared war. Trump said, "I've solved six wars in the last six months, little more than six months now. And I'm very proud of it. We had one war raging, as you know, for 37 years. One in the Congo with Rwanda was raging for 31 years. We solved six of them. Made peace, not just solved them. If you look at Pakistan and India. Planes were being knocked out of the air. Six or seven planes came down. They were ready to go. Maybe nuclear. We solved that." The India-Pakistan part of his claim is quite spicy because Air Chief Marshal Staff Amar Preet Singh recently reported that India shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and one large aircraft during Operation Sindoor. However, Pakistan denies this account. India has also repeatedly rejected Trump's claims of arranging ceasefire talks. Turning to the Russia-Ukraine war, Trump said the upcoming meeting in Alaska is just the first step. "The more important meeting will be the second meeting I will have with Putin after I set the stage at the first meeting." He revealed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and some European leaders might join the second meeting along with himself and Putin. Trump confidently stated, "I think President Putin will make peace, President Zelenskyy will make peace. We will see if they can get along. And if they can, it will be great." He also shared his surprising view on the conflict, saying, "I thought solving the Russia-Ukraine war would be the easiest one, but it's actually the most difficult one." Trump blamed this war on the current US leadership, adding, "This war has no reason and would have never started, had I been the president... the Russia-Ukraine war is Biden's war." With these bold statements, Trump keeps stirring international politics as he aims to position himself as a peace-broker on the world stage.
