Imagine being just a regular intern and suddenly being invited as a star guest at the grand Independence Day celebration at Red Fort! This is the thrilling journey of 100 young Indians, including Kavya from Kerala, Komal from Rajasthan, Kuntal and Dibyendu from West Bengal. They are part of the PM Internship Scheme, launched in the 2024–25 Budget, which has brought thousands of youngsters under the wings of India's top companies. Kavya AV, a B Tech graduate in Electronics and Communication and daughter of a tailor, is crafting her path at Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt Ltd. She exclaimed, "Working at India’s first automated port taught me how to work remotely on crane management system." Kavya dreamily plans to start her own business but says, "If I get an offer from here, I would certainly be willing to take it up." Her standout moment? Helping senior engineers fix a real-time crane fault, feeling the electric buzz of engineering decisions affecting huge operations. On the HR front, Dibyendu Roy Chowdhury from Kolkata is turning hurdles into confidence as an intern with ITC Sonar Bangla. This science graduate and youngest son of a teacher shared, "I learned all the basics of HRM and gained practical exposure to vendor management systems, including contract labour attendance, invoice checks, and payment processing." Not far off, another West Bengal star, Kuntal Pal, a B Tech graduate from Paschim Midnapur, is breaking barriers with his AI and ML skills at Adani Enterprises. "Coming from a small village and learning AI and ML is not a small matter," he said humbly. Kuntal worked on a cutting-edge computer vision project turning multi-angle images into 3D views of industrial parts. His tweaks made the images sharper and clearer, proving knowledge is his true treasure beyond the stipend. Then comes the fearless Komal from a small Rajasthan village. An Arts graduate, she is blazing trails as the only female intern at HDFC Bank, miles away from her home in Mirzapur. "I am hopeful of getting a job offer here," said Komal confidently. She mastered multiple departments, even calmly solving a tough customer transaction issue on a bustling day. Her journey shines as an inspiring lesson in patience, clear communication, and swift action—must-have qualities in banking. These shining stars will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi this Independence Day, symbolizing a celebration of youth, talent, and India’s bright future. From remote villages and small towns to the historic Red Fort, their dreams are soaring high with the PM Internship Scheme lighting their way!
