Get ready to cheer for farmers in Tamil Nadu! The state government, led by Chief Minister M K Stalin, has announced a jumbo loan package worth Rs 17,000 crore for crop loans this year. That’s not all – Rs 3,000 crore is also reserved for giving a big boost to livestock development. Last year, the numbers were already impressive with Rs 15,062 crore given to 17.37 lakh farmers as crop loans and Rs 2,645 crore for 4.43 lakh beneficiaries for livestock. But this year, the scheme just got faster and flashier. Thanks to the brainchild of Chief Minister Stalin, an instant crop loan scheme was launched on August 17 in Dharmapuri. Now this quick loan magic is launching across the whole state! How quick, you ask? Farmers who apply online can see their loans sanctioned on the very same day. No more long waits or piles of paperwork! “This exemplary instant crop loan scheme ensures credit through Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) on the very day farmers apply online,” the government proudly announced. Say goodbye to long queues! Farmers don’t even need to visit PACS in person anymore. The entire process is done online, with loans delivered on the same day through handy e-service centres. The maximum loan per farmer is Rs 5 lakh, enough to lighten their financial stress and boost farming activities. With this fast and farmer-friendly scheme, Tamil Nadu is planting the seeds for a more prosperous farming future. Who said getting loans had to be slow and painful? Not here! This is a big win for everyone who tends the fields and feeds the nation.
