Former diplomat Pavan K Varma recently launched his book, 'Echoes of Eternity: A Journey Through Indian Thought from the Rigveda to the Present'. At the event, Varma reflected on his writing journey that began with a biography of Mirza Ghalib. He emphasized the concept of 'maulik soch' or original thought, highlighting the richness of Indian philosophical foundations transcending religious boundaries. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari praised the book for capturing the essence of Indian civilization and its wisdom accumulated over centuries. He appreciated Varma's approach of presenting a nuanced synthesis of ideas without a hint of self-assertion. Shashi Tharoor, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of valuing India's pluralistic heritage and diverse paths to truth.
