India's cricket ace and Chennai Super Kings legend Suresh Raina has dropped a sparkling prediction! He says Rajasthan Royals' young wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi is all set to break into the Indian T20I team very soon. In a recent chat on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel, Raina couldn't stop praising the fearless 14-year-old opener. Raina highlighted Vaibhav’s recent storm in the IPL 2025 and the U-19 series against England. "Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His fearless approach is different. Mhatre is also good, but Vaibhav has X-factor; such talents are rare. He recently scored a ton in England and scored a century in the IPL. It shows this player from Bihar proves – ek Bihari sab pe bhari (One from Bihar is heavier than all)… Nobody knew Samastipur… A player from a village showed his potential," said Raina with great excitement. The numbers back Raina's excitement! Vaibhav scored 252 runs in just seven IPL innings at a breathtaking strike rate of 206.55. He won the Super Striker of the Season award and made jaws drop with a fiery 101 off only 38 balls against Gujarat Titans. Facing top bowlers like Mohammed Siraj and Rashid Khan, Vaibhav smashed the leather like a pro. Not stopping there, the Bihar youngster continued his form in youth cricket by smashing a huge 143 off 78 balls against England under-19 in Worcester. He topped the five-match series with a staggering 355 runs at an average of 71! Raina also threw light on another rising star, Ayush Mhatre of Chennai Super Kings, who is 17 and already dazzling. "There was a coach from Bihar who told me that he looked after him. Such players come once in a century, whether it's Rishabh Pant, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, or Rinku Singh… Ayush Mhatre, at the age of 17, right from the very first match [for CSK], whatever he has done [has been impressive]." Ayush showed his spark in IPL 2025 by scoring 240 runs in seven innings at a striking rate of 188.97. He also impressed with centuries in youth Tests against England's U19 team in Beckenham and Chelmsford.
