A shocking and bloody scene unfolded at a Dallas motel on September 10. Chandramouli Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old man of Indian origin, was brutally beheaded right in front of his wife and son! Imagine the horror at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard, east of Downtown Dallas. The attacker was 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, who also worked at the motel. Police said the fight started over a broken washing machine. Nagamallaiah had told Cobos-Martinez and a female colleague not to use it while they cleaned a motel room. But Cobos-Martinez got upset because Nagamallaiah didn’t speak to him directly and instead sent the message through the female colleague acting as a translator. The disagreement quickly turned deadly. According to an arrest affidavit, video footage showed Cobos-Martinez leaving the room, pulling out a machete, and attacking Nagamallaiah. A witness, another motel worker, described it chillingly: “He chased him from 108 all the way to the office. The man was trying to get into the office to tell his family.” Nagamallaiah ran, screaming for help toward the motel office where his wife and son were waiting. They tried to stop the attacker multiple times. But Cobos-Martinez pushed them aside fiercely and did not stop his brutal assault. Police revealed that the attacker snatched Nagamallaiah’s cell phone and key card before he continued the violent attack until the victim’s head was cut off! The affidavit added a gruesome detail: Cobos-Martinez kicked the head twice into the parking lot, then picked it up, carried it to a dumpster, and threw it inside. Dallas Fire-Rescue crews arriving saw Cobos-Martinez still holding the bloody machete. They followed him until police arrived and arrested him on the spot. In police questioning, Cobos-Martinez confessed to the horrifying crime. He now sits behind bars at Dallas County Jail, charged with capital murder. There’s also an immigration hold against him. It doesn’t end there. Records show Cobos-Martinez’s criminal past includes arrests for auto theft in Florida and serious charges like assault and indecency with a child in Houston. This violent act over a washing machine dispute has shocked the Dallas community and left a family devastated. Police continue their investigation as the accused faces the full weight of the law.
