Max Verstappen Shines at Nordschleife, Chases GT3 Glory While Dominating F1

September 14, 2025

Max Verstappen is proving once again that he is unstoppable! The Red Bull superstar, known for loving tough challenges, didn’t rest during the F1 break. Instead of chilling, Max headed straight to the legendary Nordschleife track. His mission? To get a race permit to compete not just in Formula 1 but also in GT3 races soon. Max left his magic all over the Nordschleife! On a rainy Saturday, he finished sixth in the tough Class 3 qualifying race, but here’s the catch — that was the best finish in his class! Driving a striking blue Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Max clocked an impressive best lap time of 10:21.591. This was during the wet and wild seventh round of the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie, known as the 65th ADAC ACAS Cup. This effort helps him qualify for the coveted A Permit, which demands two classified finishes adding up to 14 laps. With this permit, he can tackle massive races like the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL 24 Hours of Nurburgring, a dream for many racers. Before the event, Max shared his excitement on his website, Verstappen.com: “Racing is not just my profession, but also my hobby. This weekend I am at the Nordschleife with the goal to qualify for the mandatory race permit needed to race here in a GT3 car, which I would love. The Nordschleife is at the top of my list of tracks I want to race on, as it's extremely challenging and demanding, with its enormous length and tight historic layout. I can't wait!” Max didn’t just jump into the car. On Friday, he conquered a theory exam plus two practical tests to earn his DMSB B Permit, a big step on this thrilling journey. And this wasn’t his first dance at the Nordschleife — earlier this May, he wowed many during a secret test session under a fake name, Franz Hermann. But Max’s fire isn’t only burning in GT racing. He’s blazing fast in Formula 1 too! Just recently, he snatched his third win of the F1 season at the Italian Grand Prix. Not only did he leave the McLaren teams behind, but he also set the biggest winning margin anyone has seen this year. Now, the spotlight turns to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku from September 19–21, where Max is all set to race. Remember, he already took glory there in 2022. Will history repeat? One thing’s clear: Max Verstappen is a racing whirlwind, charging ahead on every track he hits!
