Mumbai is buzzing with a shocking cheating case! Dr Rakesh Verma, the suspended deputy dean of Sion Hospital, along with three others, has been booked for cheating after stealing Rs 70 lakh. The catch? They promised an MBBS seat for Dr Ramachandra Shukla's daughter but failed to deliver. This is not the first time Dr Verma landed in trouble; it's the sixth such case against him! Here’s the juicy scoop: Dr Verma guaranteed admission for the complainant’s daughter under the management quota. Dr Shukla said, "My daughter had obtained 60% in HSC and wanted an MBBS admission in 2020. In Sept 2020, Dr Verma, the then deputy dean of the college, promised admission in Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital." But things took a turn for the worse. The daughter only got to listen to online lectures without video! A police officer revealed, "For four months in 2021, Dr Shukla's daughter could only hear the audio of the online lectures as the video was turned off. When the complainant called the college, he learned they had not admitted her daughter for the course." The accused refused to return the Rs 70 lakh even after being caught red-handed. Sion police are on high alert as this scam unfolds. The victim’s battle highlights how dangerous false promises about medical seats can be. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
