Stray Dogs Turn Kalagi Town’s Streets Into Zones of Fear and Chaos!

September 23, 2025

Kalagi town in Kalaburagi district is turning into a scary zone because of stray dogs running wild across all eight wards. These furry troublemakers are causing a buzz in busy spots like the vegetable market, mutton market, bus stand road, and Qureshi Colony. Locals are shaken. Parents are worried sick as children now prefer to stay home after school to avoid dog attacks. Senior citizens, shopping quietly, risk having their bags snatched by hungry packs of dogs. The situation is so bad that people are scared to walk freely on their own streets! It’s not just a matter of fear — the health risks are real. Dog bites during the rainy season could spread serious diseases like jaundice, cholera, and rabies. Balarama Vallyapura, a local resident, shouted out for urgent help from authorities to tackle this growing danger. Kalagi Shankara Choka, president of Hindu Jagruthi Sena Taluk, revealed the plight of senior citizens aged 60 to 70 who can’t roam freely due to their terror of dogs. He added a spicy detail that areas with butcher shops and eateries seem to be hot spots attracting aggressive dog groups. Dog bite victims need up to seven painful injections, he warned, and urged officials to act fast or face public outrage. Dalit Sena taluk president Nagaraja Bevinkar joined the chorus, pointing out how children and elders are living in fear. He strongly demanded that the taluk administration step up to control the stray dog menace. Answering the calls, Pankaja Anjaneya, chief officer of Kalagi town panchayat, gave some good news. "135 dogs have been vaccinated against rabies," she said. Castration surgeries are ongoing, and thankfully, no new dog bite cases have come in recently. She assured everyone that all efforts to keep the town safe are underway. Will this action calm the canine chaos? Locals watch closely, hoping for safer streets soon!
