Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) is turning up the heat this Durga Puja season! More than twelve pandals in the BSL Township now face strict new rules before they can light up their celebrations. On Monday, BSL announced that no pandal will get power without a formal permission slip from the PSU. Manikant Dhan, BSL’s chief of communication, dropped the details like a bombshell: organisers must now get land permits from BSL itself, approvals from district officials, and a certified electrical safety test passed by a licensed supervisor. Plus, copies of valid licenses are a must to grab that temporary power connection. Safety is the name of the game! BSL’s guidelines say, “All pandals must install a separate electricity distribution board at a safe distance, surrounded by proper barricading, and equipped with fire extinguishers.” It doesn’t stop there. Human contact with live wires is strictly forbidden. “An experienced electrician must remain on duty round-the-clock near the main distribution board,” Dhan emphasized. But there’s more. Every Puja committee must share their contact details with both the local sector maintenance post and BSL Town Administration Office. No shortcuts allowed! If any pandal dares to break these rules, the electricity supply will be cut off immediately, said Dhan. The message is clear – safety first, celebration second. So, will the beloved Durga Puja pandals in Bokaro up their game this year? The festival lights will surely shine brighter in safe hands!
