Delhi University (DU) is buzzing as it received a huge 12,210 registrations for its on-the-spot mop-up round. This round aims to fill 7,500 empty undergraduate seats, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday. The excitement is real because DU has already conducted five admission rounds this year! Here’s a spicy twist: Unlike previous rounds that used the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), this mop-up round is all about the candidates’ board exam results. So, no CUET score required this time! The university has already sent out personalized invitations to candidates, telling them exactly when and where to come for their chance to grab a seat. Haneet Gandhi, the Dean of Admissions, revealed, "We have received 12,210 registrations for the vacant seats, and we have sent them [candidates] e-mails calling them to the university, programme-wise." But don’t think everyone can just walk in. Only those with an invitation letter will get a shot at these seats. Plus, DU has been very clear that once a seat allocation is offered to a candidate, it is final and cannot be changed, as stated in the registrar’s office notification. This mop-up round offers a golden chance for students who missed out earlier or didn’t clear CUET to finally land in their dream college based on their board scores. The clock is ticking, and the university is buzzing with energy as thousands gear up to grab those last remaining seats in this academic year!
