The political drama heated up on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, when BJP’s national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a sharp attack on the Congress party. The BJP accused Congress of being hypocritical by criticizing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an organization BJP praises for its social work. Trivedi highlighted a big irony: "A party that created divisions in society and showed leniency towards terrorism claims to lecture the RSS?" He pointed towards Congress Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, son of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who had reportedly used abusive language against the RSS. Trivedi fired back, emphasizing social work by RSS-affiliated groups. "He (Priyank Kharge) is among many Congress leaders who use abusive language against the RSS. I want to ask him: which is the largest organisation in the country that works in Dalit colonies? It is Seva Bharati, which is affiliated with the RSS. Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, which selflessly works for the welfare of tribals, is also associated with the RSS," he told journalists. The BJP leader brought out some striking figures: around two lakh Ekal Vidyalayas—special schools for tribal children in hard-to-reach areas—are run by RSS-linked organizations. Trivedi challenged Congress asking, "How many organisations associated with you are working in these areas?" Sudhanshu Trivedi also took a dig at Congress's political moves. He called their "secret pact" with the SDPI in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections a move to keep BJP out of power. He criticized a certain former Congress Prime Minister who reportedly said minorities, especially Muslims, should have the first claim over India’s resources. Further, he slammed the Congress government in Karnataka for giving reservations to certain Muslim castes “through the backdoor.” In contrast, Trivedi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to grant constitutional status to the backward classes commission, calling it a progressive step. This fiery exchange is just the latest twist in the ongoing political tussle between BJP and Congress, with the RSS caught in the middle of a heated battle over social work, communal harmony, and political ethics.
