Dr. Ajay Singh, the Chairperson of Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB), has voiced strong criticism against the abusive remarks and threatening phone calls aimed at Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge and his family. On October 16, Dr. Singh spoke firmly about the close bond shared between the families of Mallikarjun Kharge and the late Dharam Singh, calling out any insult against the Kharge family as an insult to their own. He said, “We have always lived like one family. Any insult directed at Kharge family is an insult to our own.” Dr. Singh condemned the rising trend of personal attacks in politics, pointing out that instead of healthy and issue-based discussions, some people have resorted to personal abuse and nasty language. He stated, “Such behaviour must be condemned by everyone.” Emphasizing the respect for great leaders, Dr. Singh remarked that those who dislike the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and spread hateful comments against Ambedkarites have already been rejected by people. He noted that the Congress party enjoys massive support from those who uphold these values. Speaking about his cultural roots, he added, “We come from the tradition of Buddha, Basava, and Ambedkar. Struggle is not new to us. But debate must remain civil and rooted in mutual respect.” Calling the threats and rude remarks against Minister Priyank Kharge’s mother and family ‘deeply disgraceful,’ Dr. Singh said those behind such acts have completely lost their sense of social sensitivity and respect for human dignity. The message is clear: politics should be a place for respectful and meaningful dialogue, not personal attacks and threats.
