Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has expressed his belief that Shubman Gill should continue to bat at number 3 in the India Test squad against England. Bangar emphasized that this decision would send a positive message to the team. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar highlighted the challenges of transitioning from the retirements of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin, describing it as a pivotal period for the team. Shubman Gill, 25, has been appointed as the new captain of the Indian Test team, succeeding Rohit Sharma, and will lead the team in the upcoming five-match Test series against England. Gill's leadership record includes captaining Gujarat Titans in the IPL and leading India in T20Is. The squad also includes players like Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, and Washington Sundar, with a focus on building a new era in Indian Test cricket.
