Hold on to your hats, animal lovers! The National Zoological Park in the heart of New Delhi has flung open its gates again, welcoming a massive crowd of over 23,000 visitors this weekend. After a scary two-month break caused by a bird flu threat, the zoo’s fans poured in to catch a glimpse of its majestic creatures, including the fierce Bengal tiger. Saturday alone saw 8,065 happy visitors strutting through the park, with 954 bright-eyed students from 12 schools joining the fun. But Sunday was a real blockbuster! A whopping 15,292 people came to see the wildlife wonders, including 262 students from five schools – talk about an exciting weekend! To make entry super smooth and swift, the zoo has rolled out an exciting new ‘Insta Ticket Booking Service’. Now, visitors can just scan a QR code right at the gate and grab their tickets instantly. This snazzy system accepts UPI payments and cards, getting rid of any ticketing headaches. Don't worry, the old online booking option is still there for those who like to plan ahead. The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving everyone plenty of time to explore nature’s marvels. But why the shutdown in the first place? In September, 12 birds were found dead inside the zoo, and tests showed some carried the H5N1 strain of bird flu. Authorities acted quickly and closed down the zoo to keep everyone safe. Now, with health measures in place and excitement in the air, the National Zoological Park is back and roaring louder than ever!
