May 28, 2025

A recent Gallup poll has revealed that South Korean opposition leader Lee Jae-myung is the frontrunner in the upcoming presidential elections. The poll, conducted by Gallup Korea, shows Lee leading with 49% of the respondents supporting him. Trailing behind are conservative candidate Kim Moon-soo with 35% and Lee Jun-seok with 11%. The survey, which interviewed 1,004 respondents, indicates that Lee is favored in most regions, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi. Despite pressure from conservatives, third-place candidate Lee Jun-seok remains resolute in his bid for the presidency. The latest poll suggests that Lee Jae-myung would still emerge victorious even if facing a unified conservative candidate. With just a week left until the elections, the race is heating up as candidates make their final appeals to voters. Conservative candidate Kim gained attention after the political turmoil caused by ex-leader Yoon Suk Yeol's actions. While initially trailing behind Lee Jae-myung, Kim is narrowing the gap, according to recent polls. The upcoming elections will be crucial for South Korea, with the candidates vying for the presidency in a closely contested race.
