Reliance Jio, the telecom market leader in India, has called on the government and industry regulator to ensure that carriers have sufficient airwave holdings. Jio’s President, Mathew Oommen, highlighted that Indian operators have the lowest amount of spectrum per subscriber globally. Oommen also emphasized the need to expedite the spectrum pipeline and prevent rampant fibre cuts. Furthermore, he mentioned Jio’s contributions to the development of 6G technology.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress, emphasizing the aim of encouraging innovation across sectors. He praised the initiative to establish 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ in educational institutions. Modi expressed confidence in India’s leadership position in 6G technology.
