He alleged that the ED harassed him for 12 hours and rummaged through his belongings. The ED had conducted the raid as part of a money-laundering investigation against Khan.

The AAP in Punjab has claimed that the SAD and BJP have already finalised an alliance in Punjab and are waiting for a suitable time to announce it. The AAP’s chief spokesperson in Punjab, Malvinder Singh Kang, stated that efforts to seal the alliance were initiated by Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former Union minister and Bathinda MP. The SAD has dismissed these claims, accusing the AAP of spreading misinformation.

The Congress party has appointed Arvinder Singh Lovely as the president of Delhi PCC, in place of Anil Chaudhary. This marks Lovely’s return to Congress after leaving the party to join BJP in 2017. His appointment comes at a time when AAP is seeking an alliance with Delhi Congress for the Lok Sabha polls. Lovely aims to revive Congress in Delhi and looks towards Rahul Gandhi for leadership.
Arvind Kejriwal announced 300 units of free electricity with 24×7 power supply to cities and villages across Chhattisgarh if his party wins in the upcoming state Assembly elections. He criticized the state’s Congress government for the poor condition of government schools in Chhattisgarh. Kejriwal highlighted the achievements of his own government in Delhi’s education sector. Five states are scheduled to go to polls by the end of this year.

SC, with a bench of RV Ramana, does not approve of claims such as free electricity for citizens, as it creates an economic strain upon the govt and disagrees with parties like AAP and DMK comparing freebies with welfare schemes for the needy. The current bench reasoned them to provide the means of arranging such capital. AAP, in opposition, commented that courts do not have the right to interfere in govt policy decisions on the basis of freedom of speech.
According to the report of RBI, Punjab is bunched with India’s 5 most fiscally vulnerable states.
