Aggregators of AC luxury buses will be granted licenses to operate in Delhi, as announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The licenses aim to promote public transport usage and address traffic congestion and air pollution. Operators will be required to maintain a fleet of 25 buses and introduce electric buses after 1.5 years. The initiative also emphasizes on the safety of women passengers and rapid response mechanisms. It contributes to the Delhi government’s goal of registering 5 lakh electric vehicles by 2025.
