Delhi High Court has acquitted two men who were arrested almost 27 years ago for murder based on the ‘last seen together’ theory. The court found that the main evidence against them was not proved beyond a shadow of doubt. It also highlighted gaps in the murder probe, including the absence of a site plan and lack of motive. The men had spent several years in jail before being granted bail. The court found it curious that the accused would leave the weapon of offence at the crime scene.
