The Maharashtra cabinet has cleared the plan to buy the iconic Air India Building in Mumbai’s Nariman Point to house government offices. The state will pay Rs 1,601 crore for the property, saving around Rs 200 crore in annual rent. The building, designed by architect John Bugee, currently houses tax departments and government-run undertakings.
