A six-member CBI team has been sent by the Supreme Court to Kunda, Uttar Pradesh to re-investigate the role of local MLA Raja Bhaiya and his four aides in the 2013 murder case of deputy superintendent of police Zia-ul-Haq. The high court had previously given a clean chit to Raja Bhaiya, but the apex court ordered a re-probe based on a petition from the officer’s wife. Haq was shot dead during his visit to Ballipur village in Kunda to resolve a group clash.
