Goldman Sachs predicts that the government of India will meet the fiscal deficit target of 5.9% in fiscal year 2024. The global investment bank suggests that if spending remains low in the current quarter, the deficit may end up being 5.8% of GDP. It also expects the government to reduce its fiscal deficit target to 5.3% in the upcoming budget.
