India’s electronics and IT secretary, S Krishnan, has emphasized the need for India to double its value addition in electronics manufacturing from 18%-20% to 40%. He suggests shifting the electronics supply chain from China to gain a larger global market share. Krishnan cautions that value addition should only be pursued where it is feasible, and highlights the need for capacity building, training, and the participation of larger industrial groups in the sector.
The Centre will launch curated training programmes for government employees on Good Governance Day. The programmes will be launched on the iGOT Karmayogi platform and will include features like My iGOT, blended programmes, and curated programmes. The courses will be designed to cater to the specific needs of individual officers and ministries. The launch will also include the introduction of domain-specific capacity-building courses and a blended learning programme named VIKAS for middle management civil servants.
