City police in Mumbai have seized Rs 4 lakh in cash from two vehicles during a nakabandi in Deonar, as part of the Election Commission’s model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In one case, a businessman was stopped with Rs 2.5 lakh cash, while in another incident, three youths from West Bengal were stopped with Rs 1.5 lakh cash.

Enforcement Directorate seizes over Rs 7 lakh in cash and 21 cartridges from the premises of Sahibganj deputy commissioner (DC), Ram Niwas Yadav. The raids were conducted in connection with an illegal mining case. The agency also recovered Rs 36.99 lakh cash from Yadav’s office and 19 cartridges from his residence. Thirty benami bank accounts were frozen during the searches.
