The Supreme Court has rejected Tamil Nadu’s plea to increase the share of Cauvery river water from Karnataka. The court upheld the order of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu. The dispute between the two states over water-sharing has been ongoing, and the court sought a report from CWMA regarding the implementation of its order.
