Infosys Foundation has committed a grant of Rs 33 crore to strengthen the cybercrime investigation capabilities of the Karnataka police. The foundation has renewed its collaboration with CCITR through an MoU with the CID of Karnataka and DSCI. The collaboration aims to enhance the prosecution of cybercrime cases, provide training for police staff, and foster collaboration with national and international organizations in the digital forensics domain.

CID offers reward for credible information on DySP Sridhar K Pujar, accused no. 5 in the multi-crore Bitcoin scam in Bengaluru. Pujar had botched up initial investigation along with other officials. CID is in the process of declaring him a proclaimed offender and assures confidentially of informants’ details.

The government has ordered a CID probe into the exam scam at the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Over 30 accused, including the kingpin RD Patil, have been arrested. Several FIRs have been registered in connection with the scam in Yadgir and Kalaburagi. Candidates were caught using Bluetooth devices disguised as hearing aids to cheat in the competitive examinations. The case files have been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department.
