Around 500 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSEs) have applied for the GIFT and SPICE schemes, with INR 380 crore loan disbursed. The SPICE scheme aims to aid MSEs in adopting green tech and circular economy projects for sustainable growth.
Panaji has been chosen as one of the top 18 cities in the CITIIS 2.0 challenge, an initiative by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Panaji’s project, ‘Amchi Swachh Panaji’, focuses on achieving zero landfill through a comprehensive waste management system. The project emphasizes technology, infrastructure, and community engagement for sustainable waste management and urban cleanliness. Financial and technical assistance will be provided to selected cities through collaborations with international organizations.
The rubber economy is currently witnessing an upward trend and the global rubber demand is set to touch $50 billion. Speakers at a rubber conference in the city on Friday, wanted the rubber manufacturers to make the material sustainable and environment-friendly. The conference aims to promote sustainability and circular economy through innovative technologies.
