204 security personnel have been awarded the Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal for their participation in special operations against Left-wing extremists and radical outfit Popular Front of India (PFI). The operations were conducted in Jharkhand’s Latehar and Lohardaga districts, resulting in several arrests and recoveries of arms and ammunition. The NIA also conducted a nationwide crackdown against the PFI, leading to the arrest of over 100 leaders and cadres of the outfit.
A contingent of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been assigned to provide counter-terrorist cover at the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan. The 200-member team, led by a deputy commandant, took charge after a formal ceremony. The NFC Kota facility, established by the NFC to meet fuel requirements for nuclear reactors, is now the 18th critical government asset under CISF protection.

Sukhdool Singh Gill, a man wanted by authorities in India, was found dead in Winnipeg’s Inkster Industrial area. The National Investigation Agency in India had listed him on their wanted list. Gill, 39, was identified by the Winnipeg Police Service after they responded to a call in northwest Winnipeg. Authorities in India revealed that Gill was an Indian citizen and had been accused of multiple crimes in the country. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
