In the wake of the pandemic, many students have gone through online education, seeking distance or online degrees; which have now been validated by the University Grant Commission (UGC) as relevant degrees, just like regular enrollments. The statutory body stated in a notice that the institutions providing graduate, post-graduate or diploma online degrees, which fall in coordination of UGC 2014 degrees guidelines are to be considered as relevant, and equivalent to conventionally obtained ones.
The discussed ideologies of the December 2020 and February 2021 meetings of India and UK education ministers, later landing in a MoU, have been approved by the PM in the Union Cabinet of Wednesday. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) comprises of mutual recognition and joint/dual degrees from higher education institutes (as per National education Policy 2020) between the two nations. The MoU, however, does not involve professional degrees like engineering or medicine.
