India has developed the world’s first portable disaster hospital, consisting of mini-cubes that can be deployed in any terrain. The mobile medical facility can provide critical medical care to survivors in remote and challenging terrains for up to 48 hours. It includes a fully equipped operation theatre, mini-ICUs, ventilators, blood-testing equipment, and more. The portable hospital is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious ‘Project BHISHMA’ and can be swiftly deployed in emergencies. India is also ready to supply this facility to other countries in need. The portable hospital units have already been gifted to Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
