The Election Commission has issued orders to remove bureaucrats and officials from various parts of India ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. This includes the removal of West Bengal’s Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Chahal. Home Secretaries from six states have also been removed. The EC’s move is in line with its efforts to ensure fairness and credibility in the electoral system.
