IIT Kharagpur has implemented fines for students found drinking alcohol on campus and engaging in inappropriate drunken behavior off campus. Repeat offenders and students found guilty more than twice will face steeper penalties. This move comes in response to complaints from neighbors about disturbances caused by students. Some students have criticized the fines, stating that drinking on campus is common at higher educational institutes.

Aviation authorities have imposed fines on IndiGo and Mumbai International Airport for two separate incidents. IndiGo was fined Rs 1.2 crore for serving refreshments on the apron and Mumbai Airport was fined Rs 90 lakh for allowing passengers to eat on the tarmac. Additionally, Air India and SpiceJet were fined for not deploying CAT III-trained pilots during foggy conditions in Delhi. The fines totalling Rs 3 crore were issued by the DGCA and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
