Local authorities in a village in Nepal registered the Himalayan nation’s first same-sex marriage on Wednesday, following a Supreme Court order. The marriage between Ram Bahadur (Maya) Gurung and Surendra Pandey, who identify as female and male respectively, was formally registered in the Lumjung district. This marks a significant step forward for LGBTQ+ rights in Nepal.
