The recent release of India’s first aircraft carrier ship was a huge accomplishment for the Indian navy; however, the carrier is already lagging behind against the largest navy in the world, the Chinese PLAN. The carrier, which will be operational after 2023, is a generation behind China’s most recent ship, the Fujian, which is far larger and can launch aircrafts at a much faster speed via electromagnetic slingshots. With India joining the QUAD, tensions of a future conflict with China will not give the nation a chance of competing.
