A couple in Erode, Tamil Nadu, was arrested for attempting to kill their son-in-law, who belongs to the Dalit community, in a case related to an inter-caste marriage. The couple had opposed the marriage and had been threatening the son-in-law for a while. In the incident, the son-in-law’s sister died while he managed to escape with injuries. The police have registered a case of murder and are investigating the matter.
