A division bench of the Bombay High Court has delivered a split verdict on a bunch of petitions challenging the amended IT Rules dealing with fake news against the government on social media. One judge agreed with the petitioners, while another sided with the government. The matter will now be heard by a third judge. The government has agreed not to notify the Fact Checking Unit until the judgment is delivered.
