Rail activists in Bengaluru are urging the authorities to expedite the selection of a full-time managing director for K-RIDE, the agency overseeing the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project. They argue that the project has been sluggish due to the absence of a dedicated MD. The eligibility criteria for the appointment has faced objections from the railway board. Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has criticized the state government for the lack of progress in reissuing the notification. Industry and infrastructure minister MB Patil is expected to resolve the matter soon.
