Actor Kamal Haasan’s collaboration with director Mani Ratnam after 34 years for the period action drama Thug Life has hit a roadblock. The shooting schedule in Siberia had to be cancelled due to Haasan’s busy political commitments. The crew plans to shoot the portions without Haasan initially and film his scenes later. The movie also stars Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and other prominent actors, with music composed by AR Rahman. Dulquer Salmaan was originally part of the cast but withdrew, and Simbu is rumored to replace him.

Actor-politician Kamal Haasan has accepted a Rajya Sabha seat for next year, ending the deadlock in talks between DMK and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) over seat sharing. MNM had submitted a wishlist of three Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat. Haasan expressed his support for the DMK-led alliance, stating that he will not contest the elections but will fully support the alliance. As per the poll pact, MNM will campaign for the DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
