A Goa court has extended the police custody of Suchana Seth, CEO of a startup, by five days for the alleged murder of her four-year-old son. Seth was brought before the Goa Children’s Court after her initial remand of six days expired. The Calangute Police requested the extension, stating that the investigation is still ongoing. Seth, aged 39, was arrested on January 8 in Chitradurga, Karnataka while travelling in a taxi with her son’s body concealed in a bag. She was subsequently brought to Goa.

Karnataka’s state cabinet has deemed the permission granted by the previous BJP government for a CBI investigation into the deputy CM’s disproportionate assets case as unlawful. This decision allows the government to now withdraw the previously granted permission. The cabinet’s decision is based on the opinions of former and present advocate generals, who both agreed that the BJP government’s sanction did not comply with the law.
