Suspected terrorists of The Resistance Force (TRF) fatally shot a 31-year-old Sikh shopkeeper from Punjab in Srinagar. This marks the first targeted killing in 2024 and the first attack on non-Kashmiris in J&K this year. The attackers used an AK-47, raising concerns about the resurgence of targeted killings in the region.

Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was released from house arrest for the first time in four years and addressed the Friday congregation at Jama Masjid.
