Two gold smuggling attempts were busted at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) within 48 hours. Four smugglers, including a woman, were apprehended on arrival from the Gulf. A total of 5.4kg of gold paste worth Rs 2.9 crore was recovered. The accused individuals have been sent to jail and an ongoing investigation is being conducted.

A male passenger on a Mumbai-Bengaluru SpiceJet flight was trapped inside a toilet for nearly 100 minutes due to a malfunctioning door lock. The passenger was rescued after engineers broke open the door at Kempegowda International Airport. The incident occurred on Flight SG-268, causing shock and trauma to the trapped flyer.
The commencement of international flight operations from Terminal 2 of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has been postponed due to lack of preparedness.
