A jackfruit tree in Bengaluru, uprooted 16 years ago to make way for construction, has been resurrected as a new variety named ‘GKVK Red Jack’. Scientists from the University of Agricultural Sciences successfully propagated the tree’s features and will debut the new cultivar at Krishi Mela. This initiative showcases the significance of preserving plant diversity for sustainability.
