The Odisha government has directed all doctors in the state to write prescriptions in legible handwriting or in a typed form. This instruction comes after the Orissa High Court expressed concerns about the poor legibility of medico-legal and post-mortem reports, which hampers the comprehension of these documents. The court ordered the Chief Secretary to issue a circular to medical centers and colleges, instructing them to improve the legibility of prescriptions and reports. This measure aims to facilitate the judicial system’s interpretation of medical evidence.
