A mob in the village of Hosa Vantamuri in Karnataka assaulted and partially stripped a woman as an act of ‘revenge’. The attack was in response to a girl eloping with the victim’s son. Thirteen people, including women and a minor, have been arrested. This incident has shed light on the issue of women’s honour in the village and the continuation of child marriages.
