City police in Mumbai have seized Rs 4 lakh in cash from two vehicles during a nakabandi in Deonar, as part of the Election Commission’s model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In one case, a businessman was stopped with Rs 2.5 lakh cash, while in another incident, three youths from West Bengal were stopped with Rs 1.5 lakh cash.

Election officials in Erode have seized cash, dress materials, and other items worth ₹4.99 crore during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The seized items include ₹4.99 crore in cash transported without valid documents, dress materials worth ₹47,815, and liquor bottles, gutka, and other items worth ₹1.15 crore. Some of the seized cash has been released after the submission of valid documents. A significant amount of the seized cash has been handed over to the Income Tax Department.
