The United States is all set to get its largest Hindu temple next month as the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Jersey opens its doors on October 8. The temple, which took 12 years to build, features one main shrine, 12 sub-shrines, nine shikhars, and nine pyramidal shikhars. It also boasts the largest elliptical dome of traditional stone architecture.
