Norway plans to raise its military spending by $56 billion through 2036 to bolster its defence against Russia and other security challenges. The planned annual defence spending in 2036 will be around 83% higher than the current level.
Norway is reportedly becoming the third country to offer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine as it battles Russian forces. The number of planes and the delivery date have not been disclosed. In addition to the fighter jets, Norway has also announced it will supply anti-air missiles and demining equipment, as well as providing financial aid to Ukraine. No official confirmation has been made regarding the F-16 donation.
