The Pakistan Army has launched a fresh crackdown against the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. This comes after his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), won the majority of seats in the general elections. The police have arrested successful independent candidates backed by the PTI, and raids have been conducted on their properties. Arrest warrants have also been issued for PTI-nominated candidates for the chief minister positions in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Imran Khan’s sister has been summoned by the Federal Investigation Agency.
